Inclusive Workplaces
Social good
From Female First to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, CTG is committed to improving the lives of the communities we work with.
CTG & THE SDGS
It is the visibility CTG has in the fragile and conflict-affected countries we operate which encouraged us to align our brand with the 2030 Agenda For Sustainable Development. It doesn’t matter how large or small your business is, at CTG we believe in being resourceful and creative with what is within your capability to make a difference. We cannot take action for all 169 targets of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) but as responsible, global citizens we are determined to contribute in a meaningful and measurable way. Our core mission is to create job opportunities and economic prosperity in the countries we work in (SDG 8) and to be a change agent for Gender Equality (SDG 5); everything we do makes a difference in creating peaceful societies (SDG 16).

CTG has chosen three SDGS to focus our efforts on, where we know we can really make a difference.

AWARD-WINNING CTG
The SDG Pioneers campaign recognizes those who do an outstanding job of taking action on sustainable development issues and was awarded to CTG by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) local network representative in the UAE.
We are so proud to have been recognised by the United Nations Global Compact for how we have aligned CTG’s business strategies and social impact goals with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

Alice Laugher
CTG CEO

In September 2018, our CEO Alice Laugher was recognised as the SDG Pioneer for Women’s Empowerment in Conflict Settings during the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit. Hundreds of nominations were received, from which only ten finalists were selected through a rigorous committee, exemplifying how business can be a force for good.

CTG was honoured to be awarded the ‘Most Women Friendly Employer Award’ for SMEs in the MENA region at the 19th Global Women In Leadership (WIL) Economic Forum. It couldn’t have come at a more inspiring time for the company as CTG has publicly committed to SDG 5 and launched the Female First initiative, a recruitment programme focused on employing more women in the conflict-affected countries where CTG works supporting humanitarian projects. BEHIND THE BRAND
The Agenda For Humanity was a key influence on CTG’s new branding. Our logo design is inspired by a ripple effect, symbolic of the impact that CTG’s work has on vulnerable communities. Our brand colours are inspired by three of the five areas of critical importance highlighted by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: People, Peace and Prosperity. CTG is also committed to upholding all five core responsibilities in all of our business dealings.
RED: PEOPLE
Nothing is possible without the skills of our accomplished teams. We employ men and women and are passionate about achieving SDG 5 for gender equality.
WHITE: PEACE
Our mission is to foster peaceful, just and inclusive societies, in conflict-affected countries in line with SDG 16.
GOLD: PROSPERITY
Creating job opportunities in conflict affected countries works towards making SDG 8 and economic prosperity a reality.
PARTNERSHIP
CTG is a trusted partner for the humanitarian and development communities. We join our clients as a force for good, empowering local communities.

DOING BUSINESS THE RIGHT WAY
At CTG, our approach to corporate sustainability starts with our internal value system and a principled approach to business. This means operating in ways that meet fundamental responsibilities in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. By incorporating the United Nations Global Compact’s 10 principles into our strategies, policies and procedures, and establishing a culture of integrity, we strive to uphold our basic responsibilities to people and the planet, with the objective to set the stage for long-term success for all.
For the SDGs to have a lasting impact, they need to be embedded in the way that businesses work. Every year achieving the SDGs becomes a deeper part of our operational DNA as we set targets, measure our impact and implement new ideas for improvement. In the spirit of transparency, we are not only United Nations Global Compact participants but our CEO, Alice, is a Board Member of the United Nations Global Compact Local Network in the UAE; our annual report is posted on their website.

At CTG we do business the right way: we have an ethics committee, our whistleblowing policy protects human rights, our policies are gender sensitive and our staff are trained on gender sensitive codes of conduct.

CTG GIVING
A staff engagement platform to encourage collective action, CTG Giving brings our team together to discuss social impact initiatives. Events have included marathons across mountains and auctions where team members offered up their skills (from yoga classes to horse-riding lessons). With a lot more giving planned for the future, we look forward to making CTG Giving an impactful initiative, and having some team fun while we do it.
ON THE GROUND
You’ll find CTG in fragile, post-conflict or post-disaster environments around the world from the Middle East to West Africa.
