Teambuilding and fundraising in the Wadi Bih Run 2017
The first weekend of February, a Chelsea Group team of CTG and Hart staff took part in the Salomon Wadi Bih Run 2017. Three teams of five ran relay through the dramatic Wadi Bih before climbing to over 1000m and descending to Dibba. High mountains and rugged terrain made the run a challenge and the teams ran 72km (with nine of the group running half marathons). The aim was to raise money through sponsorship for CTG’s fundraising initiative CTG Giving. Accountant Jon Farrell, raised an extra $600 by really going that extra mile and shaving his head for the cause.
I was hesitant at first to join as I never ran before. But I am glad I did! I never thought work-life balance could be as epic as this. Everyone showed great camaraderie and teamwork and the travel to Oman was an unforgettable experience. Will surely join on the next one. - Algene Suria, Systems Analyst
CTG Giving is an internal fundraising initiative with a focus on empowering women in the conflict-affected and fragile countries in which CTG operate. To find out more click here.
Everyone went well beyond their physical limits with amazing humour and camaraderie. My legs still hurt but it was worth it. And raising money for CTG Giving made it all the more rewarding. – James Veysey, Director of Operations
