OUR STRATEGY AND APPROACH
Solving social challenges with business solutions
Our Shared Value Approach is integrated into the heart of our business strategy – to mobilise our business to come together to create value for us and for the communities we serve.

CREATING SHARED VALUE FOR CTG AND OUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES
We’re a purpose-driven business, guided by the mission to leave a lasting positive impact no matter how challenging the environment. Our Shared Value Approach puts commitment into action by aligning our commercial interests with the interests of our local communities. Through this strategy, we create economic value for our business by addressing social needs, which in turn allows us to create value for those beyond our business. And importantly, as our business grows, so does our ability to create value in the countries where we operate.
Accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Our work is driven by our commitment to the SDGs. Drawing on our experience and expertise we focus on areas where we can have the biggest impact: SDG 5 Gender Equality, SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth and SDG 16 Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
These SDGs guide our Shared Value approach, shape our strategies and the impact we aim to create in the communities we serve.

LEAVING A LASTING SOCIAL IMPACT
Our Shared Value approach creates pathways to opportunity, strengthening the economic and social foundations of the communities where we operate. We provide meaningful work, empower individuals through job-readiness training and internships, and champion human rights, gender equality and anti-corruption. By combining action with advocacy – we’re enabling change and setting the standard for businesses to be a force for lasting social good.

CALLING ON COLLECTIVE ACTION
At CTG, we believe that through collective action we can do more. Because of this, we’re proud supporters of the UN Global Compact (UNGC) and the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), two platforms that foster collaboration between businesses, governments and civil society to tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges. By working alongside other likeminded organisations, we can amplify our impact. To find out more, or join us in this global movement visit the UNGC and WEPs websites.

USING OUR VOICE
As a firm believer that the Private Sector has a key role to play in sustainable development, CTG continues to actively use public platforms to share our voice, inspire other businesses and galvanise support for women, peace and security initiatives. In 2018, the UNGC recognised CTG as an SDG Pioneer, and in 2019, CTG also won the Oslo Business for Peace award for our efforts in advancing gender equality in fragile and conflict-affected countries.
OUR SHARED VALUE PRACTICES
CREATING AN INCLUSIVE, REWARDING AND SAFE WORKPLACE
By providing dignified jobs in communities affected by conflict, we can extend local economic opportunities in our areas of operation.
FEMALE FIRST
By presenting potential female hires to clients, and creating welcoming and safe environments for all, together with our clients we can balance the gender scales by 2030.
COMMITTED TO GOOD SUMMIT
CTG has hosted two Committed to Good Summits, in Gaza and Somalia, bringing together the public and private sectors to explore ways to collaborate and accelerate the Sustainable Development Goals. We host these summits in our areas of operation to find ways to advance the SDGs at a local level.
CTG Giving
CTG Giving supports and empowers women in conflict settings through strategic partnerships with local organisations on the ground.
