Afghanistan Baryalai Hakimi

PAT Team Leader
A Day in the life of CTG Staff
Once peace is maintained, our job (the job of humanitarians) will be crucial in rebuilding my country.

Once I explained to them what the organisation does, they agreed to let us continue with the project and promised cooperation for future feeding scheme projects. I was proud we were able to achieve this.

My team works in the most insecure areas in Afghanistan, which are mainly controlled by the Taliban. We have to work hard to convince all parties in supporting the food projects. We are currently negotiating with the Taliban and local government to expand the organisation’s activities to reach more remote areas in the province and thus more people who are in need of food.

Even though I face challenges, I can’t imagine my life without this job. I love helping people. I know there are jobs with a higher income but the feeling of helping others is something that can’t be bought.

I am hopeful about the future of Afghanistan, and that the war will soon come to an end. Once peace is maintained, our job (the job of humanitarians) will be crucial in rebuilding my country. I hope for everlasting peace in Afghanistan and I’m really grateful to CTG for giving me the chance to be a part of improving my country.
